A Puzzle Hunt...

Doreen gave the kids a puzzle to figure out. She spent a good two hours at the church building setting it up and had a blast trying to figure out a very cleaver way of telling the kids...

 First clue: a camera
Second clue: a box containing sun screen, a swim suit, sun glasses and a beach towel
Third clue: eight boarding passes to a week of fun
Fourth clue: a brand new set of luggage that you shouldn't leave home
Fifth clue: stars hanging that unscrambled spelled "When you wish upon a star"
Sixth clue: balloons spelling out "We're going to" and inside it said....

Jessie was quick on what it said.

They had to unscramble the balloons and then inside were letters that they had to unscramble and it said...DISNEY WORLD

Basketball

When the weather outside is nasty the boys go inside and play ball.  Matt and Chris played Deacon's ball and Jason and Mike played Teacher/Priest ball.  They all had a great time!

Seamstress and Designer

Jessie has wanted for months to sit down and sew. She knows just enough to get herself in trouble and so one day I decided I had the patients and the time to sit down and work with her.  I also thought my neuropathy had gone away enough so that I could hold the fabric and pins.

She made two skirts, one straight the other full and when I wasn't paying attention even made a matching head scarf for one of them.  I'm sure we are just beginning to have fun with this new hobby of hers.

School & Life

We have spent the year studying the human body and studied the circulatory system. It was pretty cool to share with the kids my knowledge of blood and what goes on in the body.  I sure have learned a lot of since my diagnosis of Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma (blood cancer).  Here the kids made an edible heart with graham crackers, marshmallows and frosting.
